77.77 pc pass SSC, equivalent exams

Viqarunnisa Noon School & College (18) (645 x 430)DHAKA : The results of this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent examinations were published across the country on Sunday showing 77.77 pass percentage under the 10 educational boards, reports UNB.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid handed over the copies of overall results of SSC and its equivalent examination to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday morning at her official residence Gonobhaban in the city.
The Prime Minister unveiled the result digitally, which will be available online after 2pm.

While handing over the result to the Prime Minister, Nahid said the overall pass rate in the SSC and its equivalent examinations is 77.77 percent this year, which was 80.35 percent in 2017.
He said a total of 110,629 students achieved the highest GPA-5 this year. But last year the number of GPA-5 achievers was 104,761 under the 10 education boards including eight general ones.
This year girls performed better compared to boys in the SSC and its equivalent examinations as the pass rate among boys is 76.71 percent, while among girls it is 78.85 percent.
The pass rate is 79.40 percent under eight general education boards, while that is 70.89 percent under Madrasha Board and 71.96 percent under the Technical Education Board.
Some 16.25 lakh students appeared the examination under the eight general boards, while 2.87 lakh under Madrsha Board and 1.15 lakh under the technical education board.
A total of 55,701 boys got GPA-5, while 54,928 girls obtained the highest grade point average under the 10 boards.
The number of GPA-5 achievers under the eight boards is 102,845, while 4,413 under the technical education board and 3,371 under the Madrasha board.
The SSC and its equivalent examinations began across the country on February 1 and ended on February 26 while the practical exams continued until March 4.
Chairmen of the 10 education boards handed the copies of results of their respective boards to the Prime Minister.
